Colorado Days 21-24

This week one of Mommy's best friends from when she was little came to Breckenridge.  It was fun making new friends with her daughters.  Brynlee is 6 and we had fun.  We took them hiking. My Granny came for a few days too and we had fun
We cooked s'moores on the table for desert!

Colorado Day 20 - Biking to Copper Mountain...

Today we rode our bikes 11 miles. It was fun. We rode from Frisco to Copper Mountain. It was hard riding to Copper Mountain because it was all uphill, but riding back down was really fun.
Once I got up to 22 miles per hour going down hill!

Colorado Day 19 - Blue Lakes...

Today we hiked up to a big waterfall at Blue Lakes. The waterfall was huge.

Colorado Day 18 - Panning for Gold

Today we went in a gold mine. It was super fun. It was very cold in the mine. We walked over a thousand feet into the mountain. We panned for gold at the end of the tour.  We didn't find any real gold, but found fool's gold. There was a miniature donkey that I pet.

Colorado Day 14 - Biking Leadville...

Today we rode bikes 14.5 miles around the town of Leadville, which is the highest incorporated town in America. On our ride, we climbed over 850 feet (mommy says it was ALL uphill). It was fun. I rode on a little dirt path also. We climbed mountains on the ride. On our ride, we stopped and took a break in a little hut. There was a little bat in there sleeping. It was so cute. We ate at a little cafe in Leadville. It was delicious.

Here we are at the summit of the Mineral Belt Trail - elevation 10,606 feet

Colorado Day 13 - Camping...

Today we went camping, although we didn't have any supplies to sleep overnight, we hung out there all day, so we had a day camp.  We had a campfire and roasted s'mores. It was fun. We played in a little river. That was also fun. I loved it! I built a teepee. Later that day, after we ate supper, it started to rain so we had to leave, but I still had fun.

Colorado Day 12 - Art Festival...

Today we went to the Dillon Art Festival.

Colorado Day 11 - Mohawk Lake...

Today we hiked to Mohawk Lake.  It was our farthest and hardest hike yet, but it was the most beautiful! Once we got to the top of the main trail, we just kept going to the three upper lakes. It looked like the Sound of Music. At the top there were trout jumping out of the stream!

This may look nice and flat, but we hiked 4 miles up a steep mountain to get here!

A rain storm popped up and we had to hunker down.

Colorado Day 10 - Daddy rides Mount Evans...

Today Daddy rode his bike up Mount Evans, the highest paves road in North America. 28 miles and 7000 feet of climbing.  Mommy and I were his support crew. We were there with water and food when he needed it.  I am happy that he made it!

Here is a time lapse video of Daddy climbing the mountain. At 8 seconds watch for the goats that pass in front of him.

Here he is going down the mountain.

Colorado Day 9 - Mt. Evans...

Today we drove up Mount Evans. It is the highest paved road in North America. It was scary! We saw a momma goat and her baby.  We parked at the top and hiked to the summit.  This is a geological bench mark that shows the elevation - 14,258 feet!
This is a whistle pig, aka a yellow bellied marmot. He walked right up to my window and stood up to look at me.
